30 DAY WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE
30 DAY WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE
Because I always fail to make it past, like, day five on these things, I’m going to do the whole thing at once :P
Day One: Your stats: 24 years old, female, 5ft4.5, currently 200lbs (used to be 216lb) and size 16 in clothes. I don’t do waist, thigh measurements or anything, mainly because I can’t find a tape measure.
Day Two: How tall are you? Do you like your height? I’m around 5ft4 and a half and I’m pretty happy with it.
Day Three: A picture of your thinspiration: What features do you like about this person? I despise the word “thinspiration” so I’m not going to answer this. I want to be healthy, not thin.
Day Four: Your greatest fears about weight loss: Honestly? Aside from failing, I guess it’s having horrible saggy skin. I’m too poor to afford the surgery you need to correct it and you can’t get it on the NHS so I’d be stuck with it. Still, I suppose it’s a small price to pay.
Day Five: Why do you really want to lose this weight? Are you doing it for you? Because I hate looking in the mirror and seeing a fat bitch looking back at me. Because for once I can say I didn’t quit something just because it was hard. Because I want something to be proud of. Because I don’t want snidey comments about my weight. Yes, I am doing it for me.
Day Six: Do you binge? If so, explain why you think you do. No, I don’t binge as in binging and purging if that’s what’s meant by this question. I did eat too much in general though, which I suppose is a form of binging.
Day Seven: Do your parents know you’re trying to lose weight? Do they care? Yes, they know and they care.
Day Eight: Your workout routine: I try to run 3 miles 4 times a week. Ideally I’d like to do it 5-6 days per week but I have enough trouble dredging up the energy to do it four times.
Day Nine: Did people ever make comments about your weight in a negative way? Like any fat girl, I’ve had the odd nasty comment directed at me.
Day Ten: What was the hardest thing you gave up during this “weight loss.” My bed when I have to go out running. :(
Day Eleven: Your favorite thinspo blog and why: I fucking hate anything “thinspo”.
Day Twelve: What do you normally eat? Haha I wrote a massive blog about this yesterday. I just try to eat plenty of fruit and veggies and wholegrains. I’m not eating as much meat. I love beans, natural yoghurt, almonds and sweetcorn. I allow myself a weekly treat of a Mars Bar or some dark chocolate. I aim to drink 2-3 litres of water per day and when I manage it, my skin looks wonderful.
Day Thirteen: Are you losing weight in a healthy or unhealthy way? Obviously healthy. I’m not starving myself, nor do I have unrealistic goals.
Day Fourteen: What’s your UGW? When you expect to reach it? My goal weight is 146lbs. I don’t have an “ultimate” goal weight. I am losing on average a stone (that’s 14lbs) every two months and have 5 stone to lose. So that’s 10 months worth of weight loss. I started in June, so that would take me to April next year. I have no idea whether I’ll stop at 146lbs. That would just take me to a healthy BMI for my height (though it would be the higher side of healthy), so I could probably lose a bit more on top of 146lbs.
Day Fifteen: Are you vegetarian or vegan? If so, has this helped you lose weight? If not, would you ever consider turning vegan or vegetarian? I’m not a vegetarian, but I have lessened the amount of meat in my diet. I’m not sure I could ever go properly vegetarian or vegan.
Day Sixteen: When did you first decide to lose weight? In March when I bought the book Run Fat Bitch Run by Ruth Field, though I didn’t start recording my weight loss until June.
Day Seventeen: Do you have an eating disorder? No.
Day Eighteen: What food is your weakness? Chocolate, cakes, crisps, chips, burgers, pizza, buttered white toast etc.
Day Nineteen: When is the last time you ate fast food? Early April.
Day Twenty: Favorite diet: Is “healthy” a diet?

Day Twenty-One: What are your clothing sizes? Size 16 UK sizes. I’d like to get down to 10-12, but no smaller.
Day Twenty-Two: What was your lowest weight? How and why did you gain? No idea. I never weighed myself. I have steadily become overweight since I was a child.
Day Twenty-Three: Did the media play a role in your wanting to lose weight? No. Not consciously anyway.

Day Twenty-Four: How do you feel about the terms pro-ana/pro-mia? I have no tolerance for those terms, along with “thinspo”, “thinspiration” or “ed”. “Fitspo” is fine. I want to be fit, not thin.
Day Twenty-Five: Have you ever purged? If you have describe your first experience: No, but I have felt VERY guilty after eating stuff I shouldn’t have in the past though, to the point where I’d have puked if I had the guts to, but I have a phobia of vomiting so the guilt was the best of the two evils.
Day Twenty-Six: What excites you most about reaching your UGW? Oh, everything. I know I’m going to be one of those superficial girls who constantly checks themselves in the mirror but you know what? I think I’ll have earned that right. :)
Day Twenty-Seven: How do you deal with being around food? Lol. I just don’t have unhealthy food in my house, so there’s no temptation. As for in shops, well I seem to have enough self control to resist.
Day Twenty-Eight: Do you want that “gap” between your legs? Why? Not really. If it happens, it happens but I’m not going to aim for it. I think it looks weird. Also I heard it’s genetic and to do with the size of your hips, so if you don’t have one, then there’s not much you can do about it.
Day Twenty-Nine: Your definition of beauty: A healthy person who is happy in their own skin.
Day Thirty: 10 facts about you. And now, what are your stats?
1) I have no wisdom teeth. I have gaps at the back of my mouth where they should be but no actual teeth.
2) I stutter.
3) I love coleslaw, roast potatoes and cold tinned spaghetti.
4) One of my toes on my left foot looks all bent and twisted like it’s broken but it’s not.
5) I have a gorgeous rescue dog called Hooch. He’s a “bully breed” ie one of those dogs the media try to demonize which I think is very unfair. Hooch is about as harmful as a baby mouse.
6) I have green eyes.
7) I love Harry Potter.
8) I am addicted to celebrity autobiographies.
9) I am a little bit in love with Stephen Fry.
10) The last time I wore a skirt was over 6 years ago.
My stats haven’t changed in the 20 minutes it took me to complete this quiz :P
